*Ukiyo-e is a genre in Japanese pictorial art, which was developed in the Edo period(17-19th century). Ukiyo-e is characterized by depicting and representing the ordinary people’s customs, fashion and daily lives, popular actors and famous travel destinations. In the late 18th to early 19th century, the multicolored woodblock print technique was developed and affordable Ukiyo-e prints were produced. This made Ukiyo-e very popular among ordinary people.
